Anna Low Horn Obituary

In loving memory of a sweet beautiful Siksika lady, our dear Anna Shirley Low Horn, age 64 years old, of Siksika Ab., passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Vancouver, B.C. Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, that will forever endure in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Shirley was born on March 17, 1960 at the Blackfoot Indian Hospital. Shirley was predeceased by her mother Henrietta (2022), and spoke of her often, always sharing memories. Being raised by grandparents is a unique experience and shaped Shirley’s life in profound ways. Growing up meant being surrounded by stories of the past, and a deep connection to family history told by Henry and Noella Low Horn. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Art Gurney of Prince Rupert B.C., who passed away two years prior. Shirley spoke often of her husband Art. He was very much welcomed by the Low Horn & Running Rabbit families. Together, they were inseparable and shared a love that was deep and true. Many of the families who visited often, can attest to their bond. Their lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew them. Shirley attended Drumheller High School and was a woman of many talents, each one humbly hidden. From a young age, Shirley felt a calling to care for others, and she wholeheartedly embraced the role of a caregiver with grace and love. As a mother figure to so many, Shirley provided a nurturing and supportive environment where children could thrive and grow. The children whom Shirley raised grew up to be compassionate, caring individuals, a true reflection of the love and values she instilled in them. Known for her bold personality, Shirley brought light and laughter to all who knew her. There was never a dull moment with Shirley around. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and heard, and her sense of humour was unmatched.
