Shirley A Chizik

October 22, 1941 - September 20, 2019

Burial Date September 28, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Alberta Chizik announces her passing. Shirley will be dearly missed by her husband Jesse Chizik, her children Geny ( Jesse), Gary Chizik, Ronnie Chizik, and her beloved grandchildren, Ashley ( Bradley) Redding, Tannis Johnston, Dallas Johnston, and Jessica Chizik. She will also be remembered by her sister in law Sharon Till.  Shirley was predeceased by her daughter Sherry Chizik and her parents, James and Clara Till and brothers, Tom and Charlie Till.

Shirley was born in Drumheller Alberta and lived in Rosebud. At the age of three, her and her family moved to Gleichen, where she resided until the age of 18. Shirley then moved to Bassano, where shortly after, she met the love of her life, Jesse Chizik. They were then married on September 16, 1961 and moved out to Jesse’s family farm where she then resided until the very day of her passing. Shirley absolutely loved being out on the farm and will always be remembered for her great passion of gardening. She also had a deep love for animals.

Additionally, Shirley will be remembered for being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. One of the many activities that Shirley enjoyed doing was going out dancing with her husband Jesse. Shirley’s active lifestyle and strong work ethic was greatly reflected in the way she kept the farm and her family in harmony. Shirley was a lovely woman who lived her life to the fullest, and her passing leaves a void in all those who loved her.

A private family grave side service will be held on Saturday, September 28, at the Bassano cemetery.
