With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, grandma, auntie, cousin, niece and friend, Melanie Rose Turning Robe. Melanie passed away peacefully in her home on the night of May 16th, 2019. Melanie (Laine or mama bear) was raised by her mother Geraldine Turning Robe and her grandparents Frank & Rosa Turning Robe, she also had a loving relationship with her God Father Dean Turning Robe. A mother to everyone, she was a very loving, accepting, forgiving and humble soul. Always very welcoming and opened her heart and her home was open to many. Melanie and her loving soulmate Kodey Wolf Caller shared a deep, infinite love for one another. Children; Miranda (Colton), Tyrel (Billie Jo), Isabel (Andrew), Claudia, Matthias, Joshua, Jade, Ava, Sophia, James, Eva Mae and Damian as well as special children, Charlie Wolf Ear, Kelsey Old Woman and Kyler Wolf Ear, Treysha Wolf Collar, Brandon Wolf Collar, Krisha Wolf Collar, Cole Wolf Collar, and Chloe Wolf Collar. Grandchildren Marley, Vaiden, Prince, Tilly Mei and Lainey meant the world to her as well as her beloved chihuahua Snoopy (Snoopster). Always known to go above and beyond for her family and friends, no one was turned away. A natural cat lover, she owned many cats and held a great love for three in particular; Patches (12yrs), Pumpkin (10yrs), and our kitten Carl and as well as protective guard dog Tank (9yrs). Melanie loved to dance and sing to her many playlists. Getting lost in her novels and poems, Melanie also had a passion for reading and writing. Halloween was her favorite holiday and always decorated her home with all things scary and creepy. Very creative, she could make anything out of nothing, spending hours coloring and making crafts. There were many milestones throughout her life in which she accomplished. Melanie’s biggest accomplishment she has always wanted was a big and continuously growing family. Twelve children and five grandchildren that she loved to surround herself with. Melanie graduated in 2000 from Old Sun College with her best friend Amy Many Heads as well as attended post secondary at Old Sun Community College and Mount Royal University. Melanie was also a cancer survivor in 2014, amid the ordeal she remained strong and faced everyday with gratuity. Places of employment Siksika Nation Media, Siksika Museum at OSCC, Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park, Siksika Administration and Arrowhead Gas Bar. Melanie loved and cherished her home, the safe haven she never wanted to leave. A self proclaimed introvert, the only time she left was to go out and provide and meet the needs of her loved ones. Always having that warm and welcoming presence and embrace, she had the biggest most loving heart as she only seen the good in everyone. We are all going to miss her very deeply, her smile, her laughter, her singing and her ability to make life beautiful.
