 “Climbing Up The Mountain”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend at the age of 20 years old. McKayla leaves behind her loving parents, Sharon Sleigh & Kevin (Pam) McDougall, Anne & Errol Spring Chief, Lisa & Corby Scout. Her siblings, Kendall, Brennan, Jarred, Tanis, Kelly Special sister Agnus, Melanie, Christopher, Benjamin (Melissa),  Krista (Clint), Stefany (Terence), Pearson (Ky) Tahuka, Allister, Sydney, Kato & her special little big fur brother Chevy. Aunts & Uncles, Karen (Floyd), Lori (Laura), Lee, Darrel, Clifford, Micheal, Shannon,  Elaine, Joan (Don), Joyce (Jack), Harley(Delia), Sam, AnnMarie (Rocky), Kelly (Jackie),, AnnMarie (Leonard), Laura (Gerald) Ryan, Joseph, (Joyce), Francis, Gerald (Myrna), Darryl, Mona, Tracey, Rusty, Juanita, Sheldon, Shanda (Christopher), Dawn (Bayar), Crys, Sam,  Liberty, Justus, Grandmothers Bunny Many Bears & Barbara Scout, Her traditional Parent Anders & Shauna Hunter, Traditional Granparents Rod & Emily Hunter of Morley Alberta, Her special baby loves, Neveah, Emerson, Kestyn, the cat named “sexy”, numerous Nieces, Nephews, cousins, friends & Relatives.McKayla Had many nicknames witch grew on her well, Birdie, Skinny Wolf, & McKallopy. In McKayla’s earlier years, she was a champion powwow dancer and loved everything about powwow. She danced traditional and jingle all the time. She loved to try new things and was very adventurous, loved hiking in the mountains, loved animals, but most of all she loved her Panda’s. McKayla’s favourite thing in life was food. She was always asking if we were hungry so she can have an excuse to eat again. She also loved spending time with her family, friends and she loved to sing, especially Fawn Woods songs and she loved her Peyote music. She was always ready to share her favourite round dance, or youtube song with anyone. McKayla was predeceased by her grandparents, Alphonse & Theresa Sleigh, Brenda, John &Elizabeth Spring Chief, Phillip & Lilly Many Bears. Aunts & Uncles, Leroy Sleigh, Ashford Sleigh, Bernadette Sleigh, Leanne Sleigh, Ivan McDougall, Delphine Spring Chief, Annette Many Bears, Floyd Spring Chief, Andy Many Bears, Jaye Many Bears. Cousins Jane Spring Chief, Keith Spring Chief, Jason Spring Chief, Theresa Two Young Man, Nicolei Two Young Man. McKayla leaved behind her relatives, Sleigh, Eagle Rib, White Eagle, Saddle Back, Leather, Spring Chief, McDougall, Little Chief, Many Bears, Many Heads, Many Guns, Crow Child, Hunter. We would like to apologize to ay of the families that we may have missed. The Family of McKayla would like to send out a very special thank you to the wonderful Nurses, Doctors and social workers at the Foothills Medical Centre in Unit C of the ICU, We will forever be grateful for the wonderful care you have given our McKayla-Birdie. Also a big thank you to the wonderful staff of the FCSS Siksika and YTA. The wake service will be held at the Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbour, Siksika Alberta, on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at 6pm. The funeral will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Siksika Alberta. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at noon. After the burial, the family would like to invite relatives to a feast to follow at the Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbour.
