Yellowfly – Linda Joan , was born to Kenneth and Doris Yellowfly on June 29, 1950. She lived her young childhood years in the Gleichen area on the Siksika first nation in North camp and also in Southcamp with the Owlchild family. Linda attended the Old sun school as a resident early school years, later in life she lived in B.C. for a few years. She had returned to Calgary, where she worked as a care giver for elderly in their homes. She took a culinary course at SAIT for two years and became a certified chef. Linda was a very good cook, she also did a lot of work with the NUNs o the catholic faith in Calgary. Linda was always a happy soul and was always game for an adventure. She enjoyed crafts and doing Sudoku puzzles during her free time. She was always willing to lend a hand when someone was in need.
Linda passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, December 9, 2018 at 3:45 p.m. at the Foothills Hospital. Linda is survived by her son Shane Camron Yellowfly, Grandchildren: Tyra Brooks, Kristen Big Plume, Melissa Big Plume, Shane Jr. (SJ) Big Plume. Her Mother Doris Yellow Fly (Owlchild), Siblings Elizabeth (Ernie), Francis Yellowfly, Wesley Yellowfly, Bernice Yellowfly, George Ayoungman. Nieces Kendra Three suns, Tracey Manyguns (Daylen Spring Chief), Samantha Wolfchild (Tim Crowshoe). Nephews: Kenny (Marge) Threesuns, Keith Threesuns, TJ Blackhorse, Nealon Yellowfly, Brandon Yellowfly. The Numerous great nieces and nephew. Her little buddy: Tennesse Woldchild/Crowshoe.
Linda is predeceased by: Her father Kenneth Yellowfly, sisters: Vivan Service, Paula Yellowfly, family: Roma Ayoungman, Hank Ayoungman, Jeffary Yellowfly, Joshua Yellowfly.
We will always remember her as a loving Mother, Sister, Aunty and grandma, but most importantly one who touched and shared our lives.
