January 7, 1934 - November 10, 2018
It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Hazel. She passed away peacefully at Foothills Medical Centre on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the age of 84 years. Hazel was born and raised on the Siksika Nation reserve where she attended the Crowfoot Indian Residential School. She worked at the Crowfoot school for several years, moved to Edmonton for work then to Calgary where she was employed with the Joy Toy Factory for many years. While in Calgary, she met the love of her life Doug McBeath and formed their own office cleaning business together. Hazel, who loved family and friends dearly, enjoyed spending her time knitting, crocheting, crafting puzzles and shopping for everyone. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, humour, love for music and dance; visitors to her home never left empty handed as she always had treats to share. Hazel will also be revered for her strong faith as she was a devout Catholic, she made her Cursillo in October 1993, and the theme was “How Great Thou Art”. Hazel is survived by her sister Lorretta Pauline; brothers Cyril, Ralph and Floyd (Violet), Kelly (Daphne) Good Eagle; special nieces whom she raised as her own daughters Carol (Matthew) Many Heads and Simone Good Eagle; nieces and nephews Mavis, Arthur, Rose, Shawn, Grant, Lloyd, Candice, Tina, Elaine, Debbie, Leroy, Jillian, Cecile, Lisa, Jackie, Gill, Ivan, Charlene, Dora, Lillian and spouses; great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many friends.
