Calvin Winston Denty of Brooks, beloved husband of Doris passed away in Brooks on February 4, 2013 at the age of 68 years.

Calvin was born in Boat Harbour West, Newfoundland on August 2, 1944. He was schooled in Boat Harbour and worked at Labrador City doing various jobs on the railway tracks and with the Department of Fisheries as a River Guardian. He married Doris LeDrew in 1969 at Boat Harbor and began raising their family. He enjoyed all types of music, especially his old country music. Calvin also enjoyed fly fishing for river salmon, playing darts, classic cars and was an avid reader.

He was predeceased by his parents Nelson and Esther and his brothers Alvin, Otto, Mason, Charlie, George, Nelson, Tom and sister Maude. Calvin is survived by his loving wife Doris; daughters, Krista her husband Colin and their daughter Kennedy and April and her children Dana, Cassidy and Lily; brothers Clyde and Herman and his wife Marina; sisters Ruby, Vera and her husband Norman, Bessie, Rhoda and her husband Wilson, Levenia and her husband Karl and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday February 8, 2013 at THOM’S FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE, Duchess. Reverend Ken Wells Officiated. A lunch reception followed at Thom’s Reception Centre.
